In the sweet memory of "Miss Pushpa Mamoria", my OS teacher who inspired me to write this poem...

  What is operating system is????

She was a bit nervous, and had a pale face...
But too much of makeup left no trace..
As she eased her bulk on the chair..
We cudn't do anything else to stare..

"this is the subject i will teach u..
and the subject code is three three two."
Before i cud guess the direction of the breeze...
She pointed me and said "Yesss plzzzzz"
"What is operating system is??"

I sat dumbstruck for a while,
n she said that with a cunning smile..
Self study must be ur hobby..
n u r supposed to make a tutorial copy.

Her profile was a real exception..
She was fond of playing "Bad Minton"
n had won prize in "Hand-writing" competition..
Her hobby was watching advertisements..
She used c++ as software,that too was a compliment...

Answering the questions she was so much at ease;;
the only thing she said was..
"Who will explain thiss"
And i thought if i cud know
"What is operating system iss??"

The next class i will deal with "process management"
you sud go in prior through the content..
I owned the courage n took the pain..
To ask a question she cudn't explain...
She gave me a horrifying look...
"It's not there in the book"

There has been enough of rest
today u have a surprise test
there is so much that she did...
BUT I CUDN'T UNDERSTAND
"WHAT IS OPERATING SYSTEM ISS??"

Beautiful she was i guess..
But the way she dressed was a mess..
The only time she looked hot,
was when she took a chance...
and came with us in the party to dance...

The ugly dimples n the small grin..
Terror she is like "Bandit Queen"..

By this time I know what she is
But I still do not know
"WHAT IS OPERATING SYSTEM IS??"

Of all the economics I’ve learned,
I’ve derived the conclusion…..
Never allow in your life, a girl’s intrusion…
And i've got determination so strong n sure...
To stand firm like a warrior against the lure..

It’s a consumer’s behavior to care for utility and gain..
But a girl is like paying for pain..
the exceptional part is it’s demand being so high..
the reason being “wants re-occur” and “wants multiply”…

The universal stock puts our dreams high..
But unfair distribution makes it a lie..
And sometimes it does hardly apply…
Scarce supply always causes delay in reply…

When movies no more quench ur thirst….
And the supply scenario is even worst..
Holds true the theory of “substitutability of wants”…
U even start looking at bulky aunts…

And finally when u get one u r so blessed...
U feel like superior over the rest…
The utility curve has initial slope so steep..
that the deal seems very cheap….


But One law still has the validity..
It’s the law of “Diminishing Marginal utility”…
More the product is consumed..
Lesser satisfaction presumed…

Sooner or later u feel the maintenance cost is too high…
U r insolvent but still have no choice…
May it be against ur will…
But u have to pay all the bills


The driving force is of course the desire for fun…
But u always want to incur the cost in a short-run…
Further a point of worry is the “opportunity cost”...
Beautiful looks to u later , the alternative lost…


All this causes my purchasing capacity to be very low…
Girlfriend ?, me?, noooo…
